High Precision Tunnelling (HPT) is an Atlas Copco concept that brings together advanced technologies to deliver supreme accuracy in tunnelling operations. It combines rig positioning and navigation technology with tunnel profiling and data transfer capabilities to optimize tunnelling, increase efficiency and reduce costs.

HPT brings multiple benefits to tunnelling operations including an improved tunnel profile, easier handling of drilling data, quicker rig positioning and rapid evaluation of rock and drilling conditions. At the heart of the system is the Rig Control System (RCS) which controls the drilling parameters to deliver improved accuracy, speed and increased drill steel economy.
