Elemex case drilling solution for sensitive environments

2010-03-31

A new case drilling technology offers controlled flushing for drilled casings, reducing the risk of damage to the surrounding ground.

Thanks to the extended ring bit, the air flow is redirected across the bit face, resulting in efficient flushing without air escaping to the surrounding ground.

Atlas Copco’s Elemex casing drilling technology allows casings to be installed in sensitive areas, thanks to its unique design. Compressed air  is diverted across the face of the hammer in such a way as to remove the cuttings from the hole without injecting air into the rock.

The result of the design means that high-pressure air is never directly in contact with the ground, minimizing the risk of disturbance. The system, which has proven its capabilities in comprehensive tests, is available in a wide range of casing sizes and requires no additional operator training to install.
