With the CC 6000 Atlas Copco are extending their line of hydraulic CombiCutters

On the occasion of the Bauma 2010 fair Atlas Copco are introducing the new CC 6000 CombiCutter. With its service weight of 6,500 kg it is the heaviest cutter of the line and is designed for carrier units of the 58 to 85-ton class. Stability, reliability and low operating cost are the main criteria on which the development of this type of cutter is based.

With the CC 6000 we are accommodating the trend towards bigger demolition excavators,“ Wolfgang Hohn, Product Line Manager Silent Demolition Tools explains. „Only five years ago carrier units in excess of 60 tons were something special. But this has changed. With the CC 6000 we are offering the right kind of attachment for this class of carriers.“

The CC 6000 is in line with the design of the entire product line of Atlas Copco hydraulic CombiCutters. The system with the two movable jaws and the two lifting cylinders has stood the test: it offers a constantly high crushing force throughout the entire closing process. And the combination of a single- and double-blade jaw arm provides maximum stability even under extreme loads. Univeral jaws (U version) and steel cutting jaws (S version) are available for the CC 6000.
 
Atlas Copco cutter jaws are supported in a stable manner on a central main pin. The time needed to change the cutter jaws is reduced by up to 75 % compared to separately supported jaws. Both cutter jaws can be fitted and removed as one unit because the CAPS system (that is the Coupling And Positioning System) holds both jaws together even after they have been removed.
 
The cutter jaws can be changed on site. A transportation of the arms to the shop which takes a lot of time and costs a lot of money is a thing of the past. And the practical wear part concept also helps to save time: crushing teeth can be easily and quickly turned around and, as well as the cutter blades, can be changed on site. „It is proven that about two thirds of the operating cost of an attachment are caused by factors such as energy, operator cost, service and maintenance and only one third by the investment“ Wolfgang Hohn adds. „With the CC 6000 we are targeting these specific cost factors.“
 
The CC 6000 is designed for heavy-duty industrial, bridge and building demolition jobs.
