Atlas Copco launches new generation of vibro-reduced handheld hydraulic breakers

2010-01-20

The new generation of Atlas Copco handheld hydraulic breakers consists of four models with improved vibration characteristics. “On the spring-mounted handles we have improved the vibration characteristics by suspending the heavy weight handle in a dampened pivot pin, decreasing the vibration emissions,” explains Jan Byrresen, Product Line Manager Handheld Hydraulic Products.

We transferred this solution from our successful range of pneumatic breakers and achieved hereby higher operator comfort also on our hydraulic line of handheld breakers” Byrresen adds. “Very often vibro-reduction is achieved by reducing performance. Atlas Copco breakers stay at the same high performance level but reduce vibrations significantly.”

Handheld hydraulic breakers have just two moving parts. There is minimal wear and very few parts to service as moving parts are running in oil. “An ideal tool for the rental industry, since it is easy to own and easy to work with,” says Jan Byrresen.

Handheld hydraulic breakers are by nature reliable since they work in a closed loop and dirt and moisture are kept out. Atlas Copco´s portable power packs or the hydraulic outlet on any excavator, backhoe or like, are the power sources for handheld hydraulic breakers.

All breakers are developed for concrete, asphalt and frozen ground applications, as well as for trenching, tie-tamping, spike driving and general demolition jobs.

“Our new range combines high efficiency and performance with better operator comfort. The low weight and reduction of vibration have been the key targets in developing this new line” concludes Jan Byrresen.
