Symmetrix drilling technology has enabled a geothermal energy system to be installed at an IKEA store in Finland.

Sixty wells, each 200 m deep were drilled into bedrock in just ten days - part of a geothermal energy system for the new IKEA store in the city of Tampere, Finland.
However, when engineers started to drill a 200 metre-deep geothermal well in Tampere, Finland the bedrock proved to be more challenging than expected. Symmetrix technology from Atlas Copco came to the rescue.
